(Des Moines, IA) — The road to Fort Dodge is now clear and everybody knows their path. The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union on Friday released the playoff brackets for all classes — 1A through 5A.
Atlantic will be a tough region with two other ranked teams. The Trojans this week went back into the top 15 at #12 and will be the two seed in Region 8. #8 Albia will be the top seed and #13 ranked Clarinda will be the three seed. The Trojans will host Harlan in the first round on Thursday, July 10 at 7 pm with coverage on KS 95. The winner between the Trojans and the Cyclones will play either Clarinda or Centerville in the Regional Semifinals on Saturday, July 12. The Regional finals will be on Tuesday, July 15.
6th ranked Riverside will be the number one seed in Class 1A Region 6 and will play the winner of Lamoni and Sidney. First round games in Class 1A are on Monday, July 7; 2nd round games are on Wednesday, July 9. Fremont Mills is the 2 seed and Murray is the 3 seed in the Bulldogs region.
AC/GC is in 1A Region 8 and will play at Martensdale St. Mary’s in the first round.
Treynor has earned a number one seed in Class 2A, Region 6 — the #6 Cardinals will paly the winner of St. Albert and Tri Center. The Saintes and Trojans will play in the first round on Monday, July 7 and the 2nd round is on Wednesday, July 9. AHSTW will visit Underwood in the first round of Region 6 and will face Griswold-CAM in the 2nd round.
Nodaway Valley is in Class 2A Region 1 and will visit Kuemper Catholic in the first round with the winner playing at #1 ranked Van Meter.
