(Adel) The ADM Community School District is breaking ground on a new high school. A groundbreaking ceremony was held earlier this month to mark the commencement of the new school’s construction process.
ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe said the building will cost over $ 60 million and have a capacity of 1,000 students. The school will be located on an eighty-acre site situated on the south side of Adel just west of Hwy 169, and is expected to be operational by fall 2027.
District patrons voted for the $58 million bond issue on November 7, 2023, to complete four projects on the district’s 10-year facility master plan.
The project includes a new high school, preschool center, renovations to the current middle school/high school building, and new outdoor athletic facilities.
