(Avoca) An AHSTW High School teacher was presented with the Charles E. Lakin Foundation Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award this morning.
Clint Sargent is the High School Business Teacher at AHSTW.
Jennifer Green, Operations and Grants Manager at the Charles E. Lakin Foundation, said that Charles’ father was a teacher who instilled in him a strong work ethic from an early age. This helped Charles appreciate how hard teachers work to support and develop their students. As a result, Charles later decided he wanted to honor teachers and established the Charles E. Lakin Outstanding Teacher Award.
Clint Sargent received $10,000 that he may use however he wishes.
The AHSTW School District also received $2,500.
