(Indianola, IA) — Simpson College hosted the American River Conference Track and Field Meet this week and there were alumni from West Central Iowa that participated. Here is a rundown:
Jaret Petersen, Freshman, Earlham: Finished 6th in the Decathlon. Petersen’s best finish was 3rd in the High Jump and 3rd in the 110 Hurdles; he also finished 6th in the Discus with a PR of 31.73 meters. Other finishes include 4th in the Long Jump; 5th in the Pole Vault; 6th in the Shot Put; 6th in the 400, 6th in the 1500, and 7th in the Javelin.
Brenden Godbout, Senior, Glenwood: finished 3rd in the 400 Hurdles Prelims (53.43) to qualify for the finals and finished 3rd in the finals with a new PR of 53.18; also finished 7th in the 110 Hurdles Prelims (15.07 season best) and then got a 6th place finish in the finals with a new PR of 14.93. Also was part of the 4×100 relay that finished 3rd with a season best 41.04.
Doug Berg, Sophomore, Nodaway Valley: Finished 11sth in the 1500 with a PR of 4:05.62 and finished 19th in the 3000 Steeplechase at 10:01.05.
Drew Engler, Junior, Atlantic: Finished 9th in the 5000 (15:30.77).
Nicole Middents, Freshman, Atlantic: Finished 10th in the 400 Prelims (1:00.25) and was part of the 4×400 relay team that finished 4th (4:02.96).
Emma Cooper, Freshman, Southwest Valley: Finished 7th in the 100 prelims (12.63) to qualify for the finals then finished 6th in the 100 finals (12.47). Also finished 10th in the Long Jump (16-08.75).
Maddax DeVault, Junior, Nodaway Valley: Finished 5th in the 400 Hurdles Prelims (1:06.38) and qualified for the finals where she finished 4th with a season best time of 1:04.81.
Emily Escoto, Senior, West Central Valley: Finished 19th in the 5000 (21:44.70).
