(Cass Co) One person died in a two-vehicle accident in Cass County early this (Friday) morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident occurred at 1:08 a.m. on I-80 westbound near mile marker 63.
35-year-old Jagdeep Singh, of Floral Park, New York, was pronounced deceased on scene.
Jagdeep Singh was driving a 2023 Kenworth semi westbound in the right lane of I-80 and struck a westbound 2018 Freightliner Semi in the rear. The Kenworth entered the median and became engulfed in flames. The Freightliner came to rest on the shoulder.
The driver of the Freightliner, 60-year-old Andre Steadman of Dover, Florida, had minor injuries.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Anita Fire and Rescue and Atlantic Fire and Rescue.
