(Atlantic) Atlantic Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bailey Smith reported that the Chamber hosted approximately 25 events and conducted 10 ribbon-cutting ceremonies for new businesses in 2024 at its annual awards banquet on Friday night.
Additionally, the Chamber participated in three major projects, including fundraising for the new Splash Pad, which is set to open this summer.
Smith mentioned that the Chamber partnered with Vision Atlantic’s new development project to the city. This project includes 144 new housing units, a daycare facility with a capacity for 300 children, and enhancements to the Nishna Valley Family YMCA. The third major project was RAGBRAI’s overnight stay in Atlantic this past summer. Smith added the annual AtlanticCash sale proved to be another success story.
For the 12th consecutive year, Atlantic was named a neighborhood champion, a National Recognition conducted by American Express, for rallying the community to Shop local throughout the holiday season.
As reported earlier, Christina Bateman was presented with the Distinguished Service Award. Additionally, Bailey Smith introduced Anne Quist as the new Chamber President for 2025.
