(Audubon) Audubon County Roads Superintendent Jami Schleimer says crews are making progress despite the windy conditions. He says they are working on the hard service roads, and there is a significant difference between the northern and southern parts of the county.
Schleimer advises people to stay home if they can. He says visibility is the significant issue out there.
The Audubon County Road system comprises approximately 760 roads and 215 bridges. The roads range from Level C dirt roads to asphalt or concrete paved roads.
Audubon County is divided into eight motor grader (patrol/blade/maintainer) districts to maintain the roadways. Each motor grader has approximately 160 lane miles of road to work on, keeping it in the best driving condition possible in summer and winter.
