(Atlantic) The Atlantic wrestling team concluded a successful regular season at the Regional Duals last Tuesday. The Trojans finished with an impressive 18-2 dual record and won tournament titles at three major events: the Rollin Dyer, John J. Harris, and the Hawkeye Ten Conference. This week, the team is preparing for the District Meet in Glenwood. Atlantic Head Coach Tim Duff mentioned that from the beginning of the season, their focus has been on performing at their best during the postseason.
Coach Duff emphasized that everyone starts with a clean slate when the district competition begins on Saturday.
He noted that the competition at the district wrestling tournaments is intense and unpredictable, with many potential upsets.
On Saturday, the Class 2A field at Glenwood includes Atlantic, Audubon, Clarinda, Clarke, Glenwood, Harlan, Red Oak, and Winterset. The meet will start at 10:00 a.m. we will provide coverage on 95.7 FM, with audio streamed on westerniowatoday.com. Pre-match coverage begins at 9:45 a.m.
