(Red Oak) Montgomery County Board of Supervisor Mike Olson says one Statewide Supervisor’s Meeting presentation caught his attention. Two lobbyists spoke about the proposed carbon pipeline at this meeting.
Olson says one of the lobbyists spoke about eminent domain and what the legislature is looking at. Olson says the Senate, numb to the issue, picked up six to eight new senators against eminent domain, making this a dogfight in the Iowa Senate.
The Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline opponents have appeared numerous times before the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors, voicing concerns over eminent domain, setbacks, etc., and urging the supervisors to draft a countywide ordinance.
The proposed project would run through Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Montgomery County.
