(Adair Co) The Adair County Board of Supervisors received an update from Crossroads Behavioral Health Services on the prevention programs they are doing in the schools. The programs focus on social skills and overcoming peer pressure.
One of the programs, which is for High School students, is called Reconnecting Youth.
A program they are looking to add to the middle school curriculum is a Digital Citizenship lesson which focuses on how to be responsible with a phone and being a good friend online.
The funding for these programs come from the opioid settlement.
Officials noted that it is on the Iowa Behavioral Health Association legislative priorities to talk with the legislators and push for opioid dollars to continue to be set aside for programming across the state.
In other news, the Adair County Board of Supervisors approved signing the swap funding agreement for the P-48 resurfacing project and signing the front page plans for the FY25 granular surfacing project.
