(Audubon, IA) — Workers on secondary roads maintenance and construction in the county are unionized and are due to get a raise this year, right now it is a proposed 2 percent. The issue turned into a lengthy debate by the county supervisors on raises for union employees, non union employees and elected officials. There are some with PPMe Local 2003 that want the raise to be higher and it has brought some disagreement which was addressed by Supervisor Heath Hansen
After more debate which took nearly an hour, the issue was tabled by the supervisors but Hansen and Supervisor Don Mosinski want to be fair to all county employees
In other news the supervisors talked about HVAC cleaning at the county courthouse, creating a breakroom at the courthouse and approved the treasurer’s semi annual report.
