(Des Moines) Iowans will need an extra layer or two when heading outside this morning. The cold weather is impacting schools across southwest and west central Iowa. Most schools are starting classes two hours late because of the bitter cold. Meanwhile, Jim Lee with the National Weather Service in Des Moines says the risk of frostbite comes with colder temperatures across the state.
Lee warns that skin exposure for as little as ten minutes can lead to frostbite.
