(Avoca, IA) — Its been a season of development for AHSTW girls basketball which has no seniors and two juniors on it. The Lady Vikes are 3-7 so far and have lost three in a row — scoring has been an issue averaging just 33 points a game and shooting just 28 percent as a club. Head Coach Jason McCall believes the shooting will come around but he has worked primarily on the basic fundamentals and has seen improvements
Sophomore Bella Lamp is the point guard and leads the team in scoring at 7.3 ppg; her three point shooting has gotten better and is now 33 percent from beyond the arc which leads the club. McCall says she has let the game come to her and become one of the leaders of the team
Freshman Clara Pace is averaging 7 points a game and earning more playing time and McCall likes her energy
AHSTW will visit 5-5 Underwood on Friday, then has to play #1 St. Albert on Monday.
