(Atlantic) The latest IAwrestle rankings released this week feature five Atlantic wrestlers. The five Trojans ranked in the top ten in Class 2A include sophomore Collin Harris (113), Kalvin Hayes (144), and Jayden Harter (150), Aiden Smith (138) and Evan Sorensen (285). Sorensen is rated #2 this week, Smith is #4, Harris is ranked #10, Hayes is #6, and Harter is rated #9.
Meanwhile, the Trojans host Lewis Central and Kuemper in a Triangular. Trojans Head Coach Tim Duff marks Lewis Central as the favorite to win the Hawkeye Ten Conference. Atlantic is coming off dual wins over Creston and Red Oak last week, and it turned around with a 7th-place finish out of 41 teams at the Council Bluffs Classic last weekend.
IAwrestle lists four Lewis Central wrestlers in the top ten in Class 3A. Zander Manz is ranked #3 at (106), Weston Porter #3 at (120), Carter Schorsch #6 at (132), and Joseph Monge #9 at (215).
Coach Duff says they saw Kuemper earlier in the season and noted some tough competitors in their lineup.
Kuemper and Lewis Central will match up at 5:30, Atlantic and Lewis Central will square off at around 6:30, and the Trojans and the Knights will meet in the nightcap.
