(Des Moines, IA) — Complaints are rising about out-of-state solar panel installers, doing business in Iowa. The Iowa Solar Trade Association says consumers are complaining about aggressive tactics and broken promises.
“I’m also hearing that they’re signing 30-year contracts and it should never take anyone 30-years to pay it off,” stated Genie Maybanks with the Iowa Solar Energy Trade Association. “It’s always a good idea, especially when making a major life purchase, to evaluate the terms before signing a contract. Don’t let anybody pressure you.”
She says they keep a list of Iowa-based installers on their website, who have signed a code of ethics agreement.
