(Lincoln, Neb.) Huskers add sophomore transfers Yuzu Miyoshi and Tiziana Rossini to women’s tennis team.
Miyoshi will head to Lincoln after competing at No. 1 singles and doubles her freshman year at Sophia University in Japan. The Kawasaki, Kagawa, Japan, native was named 2022 player of the year and will head to Nebraska with three years of eligibility remaining.
“The coaches and the teammates are a great fit for me, and Nebraska has the best tennis facilities,” Miyoshi said. “I believe Nebraska would be the best environment where I can improve my tennis.”
Rossini joins Nebraska after a solid freshman season at Virginia Commonwealth University. Rossini was named Atlantic 10 Freshman of the Year, posting a 14-4 singles record.
The Argentinian was rated as high as 1003 in singles and 874 in doubles in the WTA rankings. Rossini also garnered the No. 2 overall ranking in the Argentina National Rankings. Rossini also earned various titles including Argentina National Champion, W15 doubles champion and W15 singles semifinalist.
“I chose Nebraska because I think it’s exactly what I was looking for,” Rossini said. “An ambitious team, hungry for more and a place where I can grow as a person, student and player.”
