Mass of Christian Burial for 87 year old Leon F. Schmidt, of Elk Horn, Iowa, is Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan, Iowa. Burial will be in the Harlan Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, July 19 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan. Pauley Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his children, Lisa (Jon) Neuenschwander of Broomfield, CO, Jeff (Cheryl) Schmidt of Portsmouth, IA, Kathryn (Michael) Loftin of Omaha, NE; six grandchildren, Sara (Bryan) Lauer, Ashley (Paul) Olsen, Marissa Schmidt, Derek Schmidt, Easton Loftin, and Annika Loftin; five great-grandchildren, Callie, Paxton, Selah, Luca, and Mercy; siblings, Orma Fieber of Goodwin, SD, Michael “Mick” Schmidt of Harlan, IA, Joan Leinen of Earling, IA, Frances (Joseph) Bowen of Sand Springs, OK, Lu Ann Isaac of Gate City, VA, and Gary (Pat) Schmidt of Harlan, IA.
