(Lincoln, Neb.) Three Husker track and field athletes were named Academic All-Americans per the College Sports Communicators. Till Steinforth and Tyus Wilson were named to the first team and Micaylon Moore earned second team.
Steinforth posted a 3.90 GPA, Wilson posted a 3.95 GPA and Moore holds a 3.86 GPA.
Steinforth was named 2024 Nebraska Male Athlete of the Year and 2024 Midwest Region Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Year. The German long jumper holds a long list of accolades including two-time Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar, two-time Big Ten Champion, and four-time first-team All-American adds this to his resume.
Wilson is a three-time First-Team All-American, two-time Big Ten Champion, 2024 Big ten Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year and 2024 Outdoor Midwest Region Men’s athlete of the Year. The high jumper was runner-up at this year’s NCAA Outdoor Championships. Wilson was crowned champion in the Big Ten Outdoor Championship with a mark of 7-6, a personal best for the Sterling, Kansas native.
Moore earned first-team All-America honors after finishing seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 52-10. During the Big Ten Championships, Moore won the title with a mark of 52-11. During the outdoor season, Moore received second-team All-American honors in the triple jump.
The Huskers men’s and women’s track and field programs lead the country with 61 Academic All-Americans since 2002. Nebraska has 75 academic All-Americans since 1985.
