(Greenfield, IA) – The Nodaway Valley Wolverines captured a win on Friday evening, beating Orient-Macksburg 6-3. Nodaway Valley also celebrated pitcher, Jorja Holliday, for capturing her 500th career strikeout from earlier this week.
In the game, Holliday pitched in all 7.0 innings of action while allowing eight hits on three earned runs and struck out seven at the plate. Holliday was also able to help her team in the batter’s box, going 1-3 at the plate with a long home run to put down three RBIs.
Also putting down some impactful numbers were Addison Glade, Chloe Rardin, and Caroline Britten who all had two singles in the ballgame. Grace Klobnak, Taylor Laughery, Kynnady Van Eaton, and Kacie Ford all were able to put singles up on the board. Both Eaton and Ford also earned an RBI on the night.
Nodaway Valley now sits at 8-10 on the season and will resume play on Monday when they take on state-ranked #7 Southeast Warren.
