(Anita) The CAM baseball team is riding a five-game winning streak. The Cougars downed Ar-We-Va 15-0 on Monday and edged Grand View Christian 7-6 at the James Cownie Baseball Park in Des Moines on Tuesday.
The Cougars dominated Monday’s game against Ar-We-Va. Chase Spieker highlighted the victory with back-to-back grand slam home runs. Brody Paulsen pitched the shutout with six strikeouts in four innings of work.
Brayden Chester led CAM at the plate in Tuesday’s 7-6 win over Grand View Christian. The junior stroked three hits, including a double. Carson McKee drilled one hit, scored three runs, stole a base, and drove in two.
CAM, down 6-3 going into the top of the seventh, rallied with four runs and held the home team scoreless in the bottom to secure the win.
The Cougars extended their record to 9-5 on the season. CAM travels to Woodbine tonight.
