(Iowa City, IA) – Iowa football has announced that Northwestern transfers Brendan Sullivan and Jacob Gill have officially signed scholarships to play at the University of Iowa. They commit to Iowa with a total of two years of eligibility remaining.
Quarterback Brandon Sullivan played in eight games in 2023, passing 63-99 for 714 yards and six touchdowns. He also ran for 160 yards on 75 carries for two touchdowns in that same season for the Wildcats. In 2022, he went 71-96 for four touchdowns and rushed for 97 yards on 54 carries. Sullivan was a top-tier quarterback in high school after ranking as the 23rd-best player in the state of Michigan in the 2020 season.
Wide receiver Jacob Gill had a total of 17 catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns in three seasons with Northwestern. Just last season, he only played in four games and was limited due to an injury. The North Carolina native played in all 12 games as a freshman and sophomore while having a catch in seven games for 99 yards and one touchdown in the 2022 season. In 2021, he had eight catches for 85 yards.
These two athletes will be joining an Iowa football team that went 10-4 and 7-2 in the Big Ten last season. They’ll be joining an offense that needs an extra boost for the 2024-25 season.
