(Woodbine) Woodbine High School achieved an impressive victory at the Woodbine Girl’s Invitational Track Meet on Thursday, winning four events and scoring 140 points to defend their home track. Riverside finished in second place with 121.50 points, while Treynor came in third with 119, Atlantic took fourth place with 106.50, and Boyer Valley rounded out the top five with 58 points. Missouri Valley and Ar-We-Va finished in sixth and seventh place respectively, with 25 and 15 points.
Woodbine’s impressive performances included wins from Charlotte Placek in the 400 meters and Adyson Lapel in the 3000 meters. They also secured victories in the Sprint Medley and Shuttle Hurdle Relays, while Amanda Newton won the Shot Put event.
Riverside won four events, with Sophia Fenner taking first place in the 800 Meters and Carly Henderson winning the 400 Hurdles. They also claimed victory in the 4×200 and 4×400 meter relays.
Treynor won three events, with Rylee Hemmingsen winning the 100 hurdles, 4×800-meter relay and Jadyn Huisman winning the Discus.
Atlantic took home five victories, with Lila Wiederstein winning the 200-meters and Claire Pellett topping the 1500-meter field. Atlantic also won the 4×100-meter Relay and distance Medley, and Wiederstein secured another first-place finish in the Long Jump with a distance of 17-01.50.
