(Shenandoah, IA) – At the Fillie Invitational on Thursday, Fremont-Mills was able to take first place with a final team score of 100. Riverside finished second in the meet with a total of 95 points, just five behind Fremont-Mills. Shenandoah came in third with 78 points while Red Oak finished with a total of 68 points. The Riverside girls were able to come in second with 95 points and in the Fillie Relays featuring Bentley Rone in first in the 800m dash. Sophia Fenner came up right behind her in second place in the 800m dash. Other second-place finishers include Sydney Somers in the 400m dash and the shot put while Meg Haines also came in second in the 200m dash. Bailey Richardson came in third place in the 1500m while Kayden Schnack earned fourth in the 200m dash. Kaycie Perkins also earned fourth in the 400m dash while Kayden Schnack came in fourth in the long jump and Sophia Fenner earned fourth in the shot put. In the team events, the 4x400m relay earned first while the 4x800m relay also earned first. The distance medley team also earned second alongside the sprint medley team who also earned second.
Jumping over to the Red Oak Tigers, they finished fourth in the meet with 68 points. The Tigers featured first-place finisher Jocelyn O’Neal in the 200m dash and the long jump. Red Oak also featured third-place finisher Iris Ogden in the 800m run while Nyveah Shrum earned fourth place in the 200m dash. The Tigers favored well in the team events as they finished first in the 800m sprint medley and in the 4x200m relay. They also finished third in the 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay, and the distance medley.
The Griswold Tigers earned sixth overall with 55 points in the Fillie Relays featuring multiple third-place finishers. Addison Adams earned third in the 400m hurdles and Carsyn Adams in third in the 400m dash while she also earned third in the 100m hurdles. While earning third in the 400m hurdles, Addison Adams also finished fourth in the 100m hurdles while Carsyn Adams finished fourth in the 400m hurdles. In the team events, the Tigers finished second in the 4x400m relay and in the 4x800m relay. The girls also finished third in the 4x100m shuttle hurdle relay and fourth in the distance medley.
