(Iowa City, IA) – Iowa’s Caitlin Clark has been named to First Team All-America Honors by the United States Basketball Writers Association. This marks the fourth consecutive season that Clark has been named to First-Team All-America honors and is the first player in Iowa women’s basketball history to achieve the honor in four consecutive seasons.
Clark has put up some record numbers this season, leading the nation in points per game with 31.9 and in assists per game with 8.9. She is the first player to finish first in the nation in back-to-back seasons. The senior superstar currently holds a record-breaking 3,700+ points in her career and has scored 1,000+ points in back-to-back seasons. The West Des Moines native earns this award among many others this season.
Looking at all of the awards that Clark has earned this season, she was named the Big Ten Player of the Year and was the first player in program history to be named First-Team All-Big Ten in four consecutive seasons. Clark was also named The Athletic’s National Player of the Year and is a finalist for the AAU James E. Sullivan Award, the Dawn Staley Award, and the Nancy Lieberman Award.
Clark and the Hawkeyes will hit the hardwood as the #1 seed against the #16 seeds UT Martin or Holy Cross on Saturday, March 23rd at 2:00 p.m.
