(San Antonio, TX) — A new study shows a possible reason why some COVID patients suffer from “brain fog” long after they recover. It suggests that the virus damages blood vessels in the skull.
Baylor infectious disease expert Dr. Peter Hotez says this latest study is part of a growing body of research into what is known as Long COVID. The “brain fog” is only one part of the worry. Some researchers suggest that it could lead to long term problems with memory and thinking.
