(Atlantic, Iowa) The City of Atlantic’s Parks Advisory Commission is conducting its inaugural meeting Wednesday afternoon. The Commission members include Kevin Ferguson, Dolly Bergman, Shirley Jensen, Ali Pieken, and Mary Strong.
In September, the Atlantic City Council passed an ordinance with the city-appointed Advisory Commission, replacing the elected Atlantic Park and Rec. Board.
The members appointed to the board will meet at 3:30 p.m. in the Atlantic City Council Chambers.
The agenda includes a discussion of the commission’s purpose and ensuring a public feedback and input system is in place referring to the operations and capital planning for the city’s park and recreation system.
Ali Pieken from the Splash Pad committee will also provide the commission members with an update on the project.
