(Atlantic) Cass County Engineer Trent Wolken says crews ventured out at 5:00 a.m. today to begin clearing the hard surfaces roads.
Cass County has around 750 miles of gravel roads. The County has four sheds with three to four plows per shed and eight motor graders.
Meanwhile, Bitter cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills will occur this morning and again tonight. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect this morning. Bitter cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills will remain in place Saturday morning, Saturday night, and Sunday morning. Wind chills are expected to vary from 20 to 30 below during those times. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect Saturday morning, and additional advisories may be issued for Saturday night and Sunday morning.
