(Perry) People said their last goodbyes as Perry High School’s principal, Dan Marburger’s body, returned home. Residents gathered outside the school to give their farewell to Marburger. He died Sunday from his injuries sustained in the school’s shooting earlier this month. His visitation will be at Perry Elementary School Gym this Friday at 10 a.m.. His funeral will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of Hope.
Gov. Reynolds has ordered all flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff on Sunday, January 14, 2024, and remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of Mr. Marburger’s funeral and internment.
Flags will be flown at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and flag displays in the Capitol Complex. Flags will also be at half-staff on all public buildings, grounds, and facilities throughout the state.
Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties, and other government subdivisions are encouraged to simultaneously fly the flag at half-staff as a sign of respect.
