(Omaha/Valley) Eight southwest Iowa counties are under a Wind Chill Advisory from 6:00 p.m. on Thursday to Noon on Friday. According to the National Weather Services, the counties in the advisory include Monona, Harrison, Pottawattamie, Shelby, Mills, Montgomery, Fremont, and Page. Forecasters expect very cold wind chills as low as 40 below zero.
Wrap pipes with insulation and seal windows to avoid heat loss. Keep a steady stream of water running from indoor faucets, and open cabinet doors to allow warm air to circulate inside pipes.
