(Undated) — The large amount of snowfall across the state could help improve Iowa’s ongoing drought.
State Climatologist Justin Glisan says as part of the ongoing drought, some of Iowa’s streams are at record-low levels.
Meanwhile, Iowa is in for some roller coaster weather. National Weather Service Meteorologist Roger Vachalek said we’ll see brief relief from extreme cold temperatures this week.
Vachalek says the extreme cold will make a return starting Thursday with highs nearing zero again, but a more permanent warmup is coming next week.
