(Avoca, IA) – The bitter conditions have forced multiple teams in the Southwest Iowa region to not practice over the last week. This has also affected AHSTW as Head Coach Evan Hansen is looking to continue from where his team left off heading into this week.
Both Sawyer Kiesel and Henry Lund have confined to keep their motors going all season. Lund who sits at 11-2 and Kiesel who sits at 15-8 are two wrestlers who continue to strive for perfection. They are always looking to get better and have been learning through their mistakes to improve on the mats.
While Kiesel and Lund have been the top two wrestlers at the higher weights, both Kayden Baxter and Blake Akers have been seeing success in the middleweights this season. Baxter currently is 14-3 and Akers is 18-6 this season as the juniors continue to show where the future of AHSTW wrestling is headed.
While many teams have not had the chance to get into the gym in almost a week, the Vikings are not worrying about what may limit them, but rather getting prepared for Treynor and Logan-Magnolia, two top teams this season. This will be one tough test for all of these teams coming out of the snow break from last week.
AHSTW returns to action on Tuesday when they take on Treynor and Logan-Magnolia in a Triangular starting at 5:30 p.m.
