(Atlantic) No trout were stocked in the Schildberg ponds this year.
John Lorenzen, Fisheries Biologist with the Iowa DNR, said last year was the first year about 500 trout were stocked in two different stockings at the Schildberg Recreation Area. He said it just didn’t work out this year.
Lorenzen said he is hopeful that relationship continues and they have the opportunity to get more trout in Atlantic in the future.
Meanwhile you can travel to Rapp Park outside of Shenandoah to fish for trout, as more were stocked in that pond this year.
