(Adair Co) A Des Moines Woman was arrested in Adair County for OWI 2nd Offense, Child Endangerment and Driving under Suspension.
According to the report, on Saturday a State Trooper saw a vehicle stuck on Pinewood Avenue south of Interstate 80. The driver, 29-year-old Chu Taia Marika Kei Brown, was out of the vehicle shoveling snow from around the vehicle. The Trooper noticed an odor of alcohol come from her person. A 17-year-old and a 7-year-old were in the vehicle. The driver was taken to the Stuart Fire Department where the Trooper performed standard field sobriety tests. Brown displayed many clues of impairment and was placed under arrest. Datamaster results indicated a .109 BrAc, indicating she was over the legal limit. Brown was held in the Adair County Jail on $2,000 cash or surety bond.
In other activity, the Adair County Sheriffs Office cited and released 34-year-old Amanda Dawn Ruchti, of Fontanelle, on January 11th for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Failure to Maintain Control. The charges stem from an accident in October.
