(Undated) — Iowa’s roads this year are on pace to be as fatal as 2016. That’s according to the Iowa Department of Transportation.
Since Friday, over 350 people have died from crashes, which is a ten percent increase from last year. Over 400 people died in 2016 on the state’s roads.
Iowa State Patrol says speeding and not wearing seatbelts are two main causes. In 2022, half of people who died failed to wear seatbelts.
