(Shenandoah) Atlantic jumped out to a 15-3 run early and polished off a 68-43 win over Shenandoah on Tuesday at Shenandoah.
Colton Rasmussen scored 33 points, and Nolan Waters scored 16 to lead the Trojans.
Nolan Waters knocked down a three-point shot and followed with a two-point bucket to put Atlantic on top 5-0 out of the gate, held the Mustangs to one first-quarter field goal, and led 18-8 at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Rasmussen got the hot hand with four buckets, including three counters from behind the arc, to lead the Trojans to a 31-14 lead at the break.
The Trojans kept their foot on the gas in third with 22 points, led by Rasmussen with 10 points, Waters chipped in seven, and Gavin McLaren and Brock Henderson combined for five.
The Mustangs did much better offensively, with 29 second-half points. Camden Lorimor and Dalton Athen knocked down two three-point shots to lead the home team in the final two quarters.
Lorimor finished the game with 14 points, Juan Cepeda, 10, Dalton Athen, 8, Joey O’Rourke, 6, Ayden Johnson, 3, and Eli Cameron added two.
Besides Rasmussens’s 33 points, Waters scored 16, Brock Henderson, 6, Roth Den Beste, 5, Gavin McLaren, 4, and Thomas Leonard added two.
The Trojans Travel to Audubon on Thursday night. Shenandoah travels to Fremont-Mills on January 4.
