(Council Bluffs) The Nebraska man wanted for questioning in a Council Bluffs homicide investigation is in custody in Pottawattamie County on charges unrelated to the homicide investigation.
Authorities arrested 27-year-old Mensah Olloway on Monday on charges of Serious Assault, Aggravated Assault, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
The Homicide case is still being actively investigated, and detectives are continuing to interview witnesses and gather evidence. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
Council Bluffs Police Officers were called to 127 Harrison Street in Council Bluffs for a possible shooting. Upon arrival, Officers found the victim, Gary Fredrick, of Council Bluffs, lying on the floor, suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. Fredrick was treated at the scene and then transported to UNMC, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after arriving at the treatment center.
According to the press release, Fredrick arrived at 127 Harrison Street, where a disturbance broke out. Witnesses stated during the disturbance; they observed Mensah Olloway of Omaha producing a handgun and firing several rounds at Fredrick. Olloway fled the scene.
