(Area) The first shotgun deer season runs from December 2 through December 6th.
Bryan Hayes, with the DNR Office in Lewis, said having a plan in place is a big part of safety and between now and when you hit the field, it’s a good time to put those plans together.
Wearing blaze orange is a requirement.
Hayes said over the last three years, Iowa has averaged ten hunting related accidents.
The second shotguns season is from December 9th through the 17th.
