(Pottawattamie Co) The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vehicle vs train accident.
Deputies and multiple fire departments were dispatched to the area of Juniper Road and Jasper Lane at around 4:05 p.m. Tuesday. When the first responders arrived, they discovered that the vehicle was occupied by two adults and three juveniles. The three juveniles seemed to be unharmed. The two adults had to be extricated from the vehicle. Both were transported to the hospital, one by helicopter ambulance.
Due to the seriousness of the crash, Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Accident Investigators responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
The Underwood Fire Department, McClelland Fire Department, Treynor Fire Department, Lewis Township Fire Department and the Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene.
