(Iowa City, IA) – The Iowa women’s basketball team beat DePaul yesterday at The Crossover at Kinnick for the first women’s basketball game to be played outdoors in a football stadium. This game set the record for the most-attended game in NCAA women’s basketball history with 55,646 fans in attendance.
The Hawkeyes jumped to a good start in the first quarter as they shot 60% from the field overall and kept the scoring momentum in the second as they shot 62.5% from the field and led 52-37 at the half over DePaul. Iowa scored their game-high 25 points in the third quarter as Clark had eight and Davis had seven. Iowa never led DePaul back in the second half of the game as they ended up winning 94-72.
Caitlin Clark, the National Player of the Year had a triple-double as she had 34 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. Molly Davis had 13 points and was the second-most overall in the game.
Iowa will take on Clarke University next Sunday, October 22 with a time to be determined.
