(Iowa) The future of the Summit Carbon Solutions Pipeline may come to individual towns and counties. A County Attorney is asking the state of Iowa to allow local control over the permits for the carbon capture facilities. Hardin County Attorney Darrell Meyer says the facilities are not part of the pipeline and should come under local ordinances and permitting. The proposed Summit Solutions Pipeline would move carbon dioxide from ethanol plants in Iowa and other states into a storage facility in North Dakota.
