(Des Moines) The roll-out of new all-electric DART buses in Des Moines will be delayed a little longer now that the bus supplier says it’s running out of money. The Washington Post reports California-based bus builder Proterra is filing for bankruptcy following struggles with supply chain issues and inflation. Proterra has been heavily subsidized as part of the Biden Administration’s electric vehicle push. According to Axios, Proterra buses likely won’t arrive on time in Des Moines, delaying the local DART E-V roll-out by at least two more months.
