(Montgomery Co) Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident in Montgomery County Wednesday morning.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says at approximately 11:12 a.m., the Communications Center was contacted by Onstar indicating there was a collision located at 270th Street and Highway 48. According to the report, a 2024 Chevrolet K2500 with a black utility trailer had been northbound on Highway 48 when a 2017 Lincoln MKZ entered the intersection from the eastbound lane of the southwest corner of the intersection into the path of the Chevrolet. The driver of the Chevrolet, Christopher P. Hielen of Shenandoah, attempted to avoid the collision, but was unable to do so. This resulted in the left front of the Chevrolet colliding with the right front of the MKZ, operated by Lester A. Nelson of Red Oak.
Both drivers were transported by Red Oak Rescue to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
No citations have been issued at this time and the investigation is complete.
