(Atlantic) The Atlantic Trojans cross country teams open the season at Glenwood on Saturday. Claire Pellett, a top 15 finisher at the State Cross Country meet one year ago, is the front runner; state qualifier Belle Berg, a 2022 state qualifier, ran second to Pellett in the time trials on Tuesday. On the boy’s side, Bennett Whetstone is the top runner heading into the season’s first meet, and Alex Sonntag is second fastest.

The teams competing along with Atlantic, are Clarinda, Council Bluffs Jefferson, Council Bluffs Lincoln, Creston, East Mills, Essex, Glenwood, Harlan Community, Heartland Christian, Kuemper Catholic, Lewis Central, Red Oak, Shenandoah, and St. Albert.
The meet starts at 9:00 a.m.
