(Des Moines) The scorching temperatures on Wednesday set record highs in several cities across the state. Alexis Jimenez with the National Weather Service in Des Moines reports new record highs of 105 degrees in Waterloo, Mason City, 101, and Des Moines of 100 degrees.
Jimenez says, fortunately, a cold front moving through the state will bring relief this weekend.
The entire state is under an excessive heat warning until 7:00 p.m. today.
