(Bayard) A pedestrian was injured in an accident in Bayard Monday evening.
The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Rodney Blackmon, of Bayard, was driving a 1999 Subaru Forester westbound on 2nd Street, looking to his left at kids in the park at around 7:27 p.m. A 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee was parked at the end of the driveway at 202 2nd Street. 26-year-old Justin Kaltved, of Des Moines, was working on airing up the tire on the Jeep and was in the open doorway of the Jeep. Blackmon advised that he did not see the Jeep until it was too late and the sun was in his eyes and he collied with the Jeep.
Kaltved was transported to the Green County Hospital by Panora EMS with complaint of pain/injury.
