(Des Moines, IA) — Starting next month, Iowans collecting unemployment will start seeing more money in their weekly benefit checks. Iowa Workforce Development announced Thursday the amounts will be increasing by roughly $30 across the board. Starting July 2nd, jobless workers with no dependants will receive a maximum weekly jobless benefit of over $580. An unemployed worker with four dependants will receive up to $714 per week. IWD uses a formula each year to determine the maximum and minimum benefit amounts.
