(Adair Co) The Adair County Treasurers Office is going to begin charging a convenience fee for out-of-county driver’s licenses.
Adair County Treasurer Brenda Wallace told the Board of Supervisors on Friday that all of the counties are getting more and more residents from out of county to get their driver’s license.
Wallace said there are several counties that still have not decided if they are going to charge a convenience fee, 17 counties have said no to the fee, and 24 have said they are going to charge a fee. Wallace said they are going to charge the convenience fee in Adair County because she doesn’t feel their taxpayers should have to pay for out of county residents to have their service.
