(Carroll, IA) — The Iowa State Patrol is investigating after a chain-reaction crash near Scranton left one person dead and six others seriously injured. The ISP says three vehicles were stalled on Highway 30 near Scranton around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday due to road construction. They say another vehicle crashed into the back of the line causing the other three to hit each other. 84-year-old Mary Ann Haberl of Carroll was killed in the collision. Greene County sheriff Jack Williams says five others were injured in the crash.
