(Elk Horn) The Exira/EHK School District is in the early planning stages of a proposed renovation project to partner with the Community on the Schools Weight room in Exira. The proposal was discussed at Thursday’s Exira/EHK School Board meeting. Tom Benton and Travis Nelson shared drawings to renovate and expand the weight room. They would like to create a space the public can use.
Schools Superintendent Trevor Miller says this discussion started two years ago.
Miller says this is an excellent opportunity because many small communities do not have a weight room or a fitness center.
The School Board would like to see additional planning and costs associated with this project before deciding about the renovation. Trevor Miller says this is a good idea and a good partnership. Miller says they have had the initial discussion and now have a path to go with.
