(Harlan) The Harlan City Council approved the permit from the Shelby County Fair Corporation for a parade on July 13th at 6:00 p.m.
The parade will take the same route as in the past. Harlan City Administrator Gene Gettys told the Council that the tentative start date for the mill and overlay project is the week of July 4th, but more than likely it will be the following week when the fair parade takes place.
In other news, Gettys reported that Gary Hopp is interested in doing some improvement of Maple Road, which would be considered a private improvement of a public area. The plan is to put some seal coat or oil on the surface of approximately a two-mile stretch. Gettys said this may come to the council for further review.
